Giddy over my new skates! March 28, 2009 M. Chung (Oregon, USA) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I recently bought skates and roller blades for my kids. As I was teaching them how to do it I remember how much I loved to skate as a kid. I'm 35 and "curvy" and didn't think my ankles could handle roller blades. Plus I love the retro look of these skates. They're exactly like the ones I had as a kid. The only difference is the color of the wheels. These ones are a pale, rosy pink - not the hot, orangy pink in one of the pictures. Also, some pictures show the heel as black, but mine came in the light brown.
I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered an 8 based on the other reviews. I'm glad I did because the 8s are just about perfect, if not still a little big. The wheels don't spin as easily as I remember from 25 years ago which is a good thing for someone like me who wants to take things slow.
The construction is quite sturdy. I was a little concerned about how well they could handle my "curves", but I felt very comfortable on them. I am thrilled with my purchase and plan on spending lots of time skating with the kids both outside around our apartment complex and at the rink once I get used to being that mobile again.
I love my skates! July 17, 2008 Shelley M. Malphurs (Nashville, TN) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I love my new skates! The wheels aren't quite as orangey-pink as shown; they are more of a pastel pink. AND you may want to order a size or half size smaller than what you wear. I ordered my shoe size, and they are big. But I got some insoles to help them fit, and now I'm good to go. Overall, I'm quite pleased. I had a friend pay the same amount for similar skates at a sporting goods store, and her trucks/bearings are plastic. So these are definitely better skates for the money.
Chicago Skates a good buy February 2, 2007 Susan L. Thompson (Clearfield PA USA) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
The Chicago Women's Rink skates are reasonably priced at $29.99 and have performed well for my 9-year old daughter. She has had no problems (i.e. sore feet, ankles or blisters) breaking them in. Finding roller skates (as opposed to inline skates) in retail stores is nearly impossible and the prices were at least double for what I paid. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for recreational purposes.
Fantastic purchase January 14, 2008 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
They hold up well. It's been a year of heavy use and they still look new. Skates arrived quickly. I'd definitely recommend and have.
